The Interfaith Hospitality Network (IHN) is a coalition of more than 15 congregations that have partnered to combat homelessness in our area. IHN mobilizes community resources to help homeless families that find themselves in crisis situations regain sustainable independence. The intent is to give homeless families the opportunity to stay together as a family and the time and resources to get back on their feet.
Covenant and other congregations provide shelter, meals, and support on a rotating basis for 30-45 days, while the IHN office helps families search for work and their own housing. Families sleep in their own rooms in the church during their rotation at Covenant. Covenant volunteers take turns serving as hosts at church, provide meals and eat with the families, and provide transportation to and from the church in the morning and evening.
